THURSDAY, APRIL 9, at noon 12:00pm – 1:00pm in the Illini Union Federal Room 25B (lower level north side) Allen Wakabayashi (Associate Pastor Twin City Bible Church and Teaching Specialist with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the U of I) will speak on “Living with the End in Mind: Eschatology and how it matters for life.”  His talk will consider how a biblical eschatology (study of the “End”) matters for the present with particular attention to the life of the university. 
 
Allen Wakabayashi is a noted writer and speaker on issues of faith and he has a unique perspective on students and the university and spiritual matters.  He is the author of
Kingdom Come: How Jesus Wants to Change the World published by IV Press in 2003.  Allen has served in campus ministry with InterVarsity since 1989 (1989-95 at Millikin and Bradley Universities, 1995-2008 at Northwestern U.).  His B.S. in Psychology was from Millikin University and he holds an M.A. in Intercultural Studies from the Wheaton College Graduate School and an M.A. in Biblical Studies from Loyola University of Chicago.  Allen has been married to Diane for 16 years and you can learn more about his story and work on  http://www.nowbutnotyet.com/.
