Dr. Paulo Ribeiro, Calvin College Professor of
Professor Electrical Engineering
Dr. Ribeiro will speak on
"Developing a Christian Mind--CS Lewis: Integrating Reason, Imagination and Faith"

Dr. Paulo F. Ribeiro received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Recife, Brazil, completed the Electric Power Systems Engineering Course with Power Technologies, Inc. (PTI), received his Ph.D. from the University of Manchester, Manchester, England and an MBA from Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Virginia. Dr. Ribeiro worked as a transmission planning engineer for a federal utility in Brazil (CHESF), chief-engineer for power systems integration (BWX Technologies). Presently, he is a Professor of Engineering at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Ribeiro is active in IEEE, CIGRE and IEC working groups on harmonics and power quality. He is a registered European Engineer (Eur Ing), Professional Engineer in the State of Iowa, and a Fellow of the IEEE.


Dr. Ribeiro and his wife Adriana met 33 years ago at an InterVarsity Fellowship Bible Study and have worked together with student ministries for many years. Paulo grew up in the Northeast coast of Brazil, started reading CS Lewis 34 ago and now teaches (with his wife) a college course titled: Developing a Christian Mind - CS Lewis: Integrating Reason, Imagination and Faith.
