Our luncheon procedure and format are simple. (Remember that you
may come and NOT eat! Some faculty chose that option, eating before
or after the "luncheon".)
*
When we meet on the
second floor of the Illini Union--
To purchase a great buffet lunch, come first to IU Room 210 and
check to see if there are tickets. If there are tickets, please
take a ticket, leave your belongs at a seat, and then go into the
Ballroom and pay first. That is, give your ticket to the person at
the cash register and pay before getting your food. Then all you
need to do is to grab a plate (or two) and get whatever food you
want. The dessert is included in the price so don't forget the
dessert (words to live by). Then just walk out of the Ballroom with
food in hand (yes, it seems weird) and return to Room 210 for this
luncheon. Beverages are provided in Room 210.
IF you bring your own food into Room 210, the Union requests that
the food have been purchased in the lower level of the Union. The
good folks at the Union frown on bag lunches being brought
in.
**
When we meet on the
fourth floor of the Illini Union–
When we meet here, you should not bring your bag
lunches BUT you may purchase food in the food court and bring it
with you. The good folks at the Union frown on bag lunches being
brought in.

When we meet on the
lower floor of the Illini Union in Federal Room
25--
When we meet here,
you may bring your bag lunches or purchase food in the food
court.
Format. We typically begin by enjoying our food and our
neighbors. At some point, the convener will gather everyone's
attention and begin the meeting. Please keep eating throughout the
meeting. We may quickly go around the room and give our names and
affiliations, then do any ICFS business (aka announcements) and
hear from our speaker.
If you
need to leave early to get to your next
appointment, you are very free
to do so! Don't feel badly if you need to leave early. You are
among friends.
